In the age of Cosmic Era, humanity has created its own downfall: a strand of genetically-enhanced people, superior in mind, body, and gifts. With human nature taking its toll, tensions exploded between the genetically enhanced "Coordinators" and the untouched "Naturals". Now, Earth is primarily Natural-dominated, with Coordinators living in space colonies above, collectively referred to as "PLANT".
Born the daughter of a famous politician in PLANT, Lacus Clyne lost her mother at an early age due to the "Bloody Valentine" event, a terrorist attack that shook the foundations of both Coordinators and Naturals alike, a stepping stone in the war that broke out.
Growing up, she became a famous singer, and her influence grew both due to where she came from and her ideals, which her music spoke of. After being engaged to the son of PLANT's current Chairman, it seemed her domain could only grow, until an attack that left her drifting in space, only to be rescued by an Earth Alliance battleship inhabited with a handful of key civilians.
The events that unfolded upon meeting the destined boy pilot Kira Yamato led them hand-in-hand through two wars, through which together they strove to urge humanity in the best direction. With Kira's unrivalled piloting of the Freedom Gundam and Lacus's unyielding influence as the "White Queen", they, and the other members of the Clyne Faction, fight for a neverending tomorrow, unhindered by the ambitions of those clouded by personal deceit.
Lacus Clyne's personality can best be described as "tactfully innocent". As a warm-hearted young woman, Lacus's compassion laced with personal wisdom is not reserved for any one type of person. Respectfully graceful as one might expect a female of status to be, she is also quite playful, not simply able to dispel the fears of the public with words as they move forward, but able to brighten a situation with her mannerisms. Although appearing to possess a great amount of innocence, it is merely the shrink-wrap on her personal experiences, hiding how much she truly knows.
